So fresh & flavorful--shrimp ceviche & fish tacos. Perfect for quick bite after arriving to Phoenix airport and headed over to Tucson. Would definitely eat here again!
Fresh, Flavorful, and Worth Every Bite! I'm always hesitant to eat seafood in Arizona, but Mariscos El Wicho has completely changed the game for me! This place is everything I look for: super fresh, flavorful, and clean (my #1 priority). I ordered the ceviche de camarón, and it was perfection. One thing I loved is that they didn't mix ketchup into it--instead, they provided packets on the side, letting me enjoy the ceviche just how I like it: savory, tangy, and packed with lime. The vegetables were diced perfectly--no overwhelming chunks--and the balance of shrimp to veggies was spot on. We also tried the aguas frescas, and they were out of this world! I had the watermelon, and my coworker had the pineapple--both were absolutely phenomenal. They were flavor-packed without being overly sweet, hitting all the perfect notes. The portions are generous, the value is great, and the service is excellent. This is hands down some of the best seafood I've had in Arizona. I almost don't want to share how amazing this place is so it doesn't get too busy... just kidding (kind of). Support this spot--they deserve all the love!
Delicioso! I had the carne quesadilla and the fish tacos! Absolutely banging!! All I needed was a beer to make it perfect. The people are both friendly and helpful.
Came here on a day trip to Tempe from Scottsdale--and I would drive again for this. Shrimp ceviche platter and the pineapple aqua fresca were light, fresh, delicious and large enough to share. We enjoyed every bite. You can see them peeling shrimp and juicing limes in the back. Staff were so friendly and made great recommendations. The location in a strip mall surprised us but don't be turned off. Many people were coming to eat in or get take out. Don't miss out on this hidden gem just outside the university area! We will be remembering this place long after we travel home.
Hey everyone, back with another feastora for you. Been on the list for a minute, and for great reason and super glad it was. Definitely one of the better Mariscos places I've been to lately. Check it out. Limoñada Mineral - Super refreshing, super smackalicious, this one's perfect for me cause I'm always mixing juices and sparkling water. Amazing! For real. Try it! Guacamole, Salsa & Chips. Love the Chips, homemade, Guacamole was delicious, Salsa was on point, no complaints at all. Yum! Botana Mixta - Shrimp, Pulpo & Callo soaked in lime juice and house cocido, served with fresh Tomatoes and Cucumbers, Tostadas on the side, yooooo. Must order for me. Tosti-Ceviche - First time for me but absolutely loved it. Super good Ceviche de Camarón on too of a bed of Salsa Verde Tostitos and fresh Avocado on top. Yummmmm Check em out for sure, super clean spot, the staff was super attentive, the food was amazing, the music was on point, all of it. Will be back for sure, it made my list for sure.
Excellent and attentive service. They were super nice and quick to serve. Loved the music. Delicious food! The botana especial does NOT disappoint one bit.
Great portions, flavor and authenticity. We got the ceviche and it came with 8 tostadas so plenty of food for two.
First: the service and being greeted as soon as walk in the door was not only pleasant but refreshing. The man taking our order at the register was beyond helpful and made ordering easy. The food was amazing! We lived in Mexico for 7 years and this seafood was as fresh or maybe even fresher! I appreciate the quality and presentation ( plating ). Very high quality seafood. The quantity in generous, if not more so. I believe the tortilla chips may be house made. My husband ordered the "Campechana Grande" Coctel which he exclaimed was the best he's ever had and we've traveled throughout Mexico and Belize! I had "the Torre" which was a tower of seafood which I couldn't finish! The food is truly worth the trip if you like fresh seafood Mexican style. The location is casual and very clean. The staff is friendly and informative. Mexican music played by adds to the authenticity. This is a gem in the dessert!
Ok, I read the reviews and trusted them. Not only did they hit the head the nail on the head, but they accurately described the freshness, taste and presentation. I'm here to add my own take on this ceviche heaven. First of all, if it weren't for their location, we would be here much more often, but we live way out on the West side. Will that keep us from making the drive, no way! This fully satisfied my culinary cravings. The seafood is so fresh, you may think you are beachside at the best restaurant on the coast. Like a resort??? No, it's a typical ma & pop establishment, but their service and smiles easily put it up there with the best 5 stars out there, especially in the desert! Their array of hot sauces (pictured) enhance your experience and I felt like I was eating at least 7 different dishes. Try them all! The server check on us at least THREE times to see how we were doing. Toward he asked if we needed a box, my wife said "yes", I looked at him as if I said, "hold my beer, I got this"! If you are on the East side or picking up friends and family from the airport, don't cheat yourself of this hidden gem. If you live on the West side, please get some takeout for us! I'm torn between getting the word out and keeping it all to myself! But, these guys earn a top shout out for the best ceviche I've ever had. Good job guys!!!
Look, it's simple right? Mexican Shrimp cocktail... then why has been it been challenging to find one that satisfies my palate? Well, until now. I've been craving a cóctel de camarón and I've done as I always do, scroll and search because I'm not going to make it myself because I always make 2lbs worth and then eat it all in like a day and well, that never feels good after the fact. I get excited about a spot and then become uncertain upon reading reviews, or disappointed after getting one from a spot. Today, I scrolled and scrolled and found Mariscos el Wicho, the reviews, though few seemed promising. Now, I was almost confused by the spot located in suite 10.... Marisocos is suite 1 at the end of the plaza. Strolled on in. I admit I may go a bit heavy on Valentina and ketchup when I make mine at home... maybe. So, I did add a squirt of ketchup into mine after first taste and a mix of the plethora of hot sauce options on the table. Look, I don't know why it was so frigging good to me? Maybe because I'd been craving it? I could literally taste everything, cucumber, avocado, cilantro and the jalapeno and it just tasted so good, refreshing. The shrimp was fresh. It all tasted so fresh. Like so fresh AND I received better service at the table than I have in a restaurant in a long time. Like for real, and it was friendly not this awkward weird "leave me alone, already" type of thing. No, the dude was great, the cocktail was exactly what I wanted and needed and I am likely to head in again but next time I'll go for a regular and not a large. So glad I skipped the drink. Not a visible public restroom but I did hear him offer upon inquiry. I'm satisfied. A little pricey I suppose, with a heavier tip $25 but I got the large, it came with the perfect number of totasta shells for the portion and a few packs of saltine crackers. I wouldn't have made my own for any less and these days, it isn't really all that pricey. Not to mention, the taste was worth every penny.
